James trained as an optometrist at Aston University in the UK and has lived in North Queensland for just over ten years.

When he's not examining eyes, you will find him tending to his menagerie of animals. He has rescued three ex-racehorses, two dogs, numerous abandoned cats and is currently nursing a possum and her joey back to health.

James achieved an Honours degree with low vision as his discipline. He provided domiciliary eye care in the UK to both residential care facilities and individuals. James strives to provide a level of clinical care as close as possible to what his patients would receive had they visited a bricks-and-mortar practice

Elaine qualified as a dispensing optician after a three-year course at Ruskin University in Cambridge, UK.

Before entering the optical industry, Elaine completed a foundation degree in art and design. Her artistic flair helps her produce the promotional material for Outside Optical.

When she's not dispensing or creating Elaine likes to get out for a treadle on her bike or a hike through the bush.
